Attention bassists! Although our current bass player is a great guy and close friend he is taking a little time to step back and follow some other paths. It is a very friendly parting yet disappointing to lose a close comerade. Please read the entire post even if it's long. (I am just starting to write so I have no idea where it's going yet lol). Anyway...I could just put up a short three line post with the basic "looking for a bassist, please contact me" thing, but I once put up a long winded post for a drummer and it worked out better than we could have hoped.
By now you know we need a bass player. Who are "we"? We'll get there in a few lines... first I want to get to who you are. You don't have to be the best player in the Twin Tiers, or you are an experienced and established musician...but you are not a beginner that has to have your hand held either. Basically if you can play what we play and not be a train wreck. Don't get me wrong, we're not looking for just a warm body to fill the position so you should know how to play just don't think that every band is looking for the next Billy Sheehan. If you don't think you're "good enough" yet for a band let US be the judge of that and give it a shot. If you're a very experienced player then we are also a highly experienced band. Next you have a good personality and do not have a ginormous ego problem. Let's all be honest here...most musicians do have an ego...all of them...but keeping it under control and keeping it small enough to not be an issue matters. Third, understand that comraderie (probably spelled that wrong) and friendship in our band is more important than learning 30 songs a week. Yup, we DO want and need you to make progress and be ready to play our current shows but we aren't unreasonable. Basically...have a good/fun attitude, be reliable, be able to play our material, and don't be a weirdo. We may even be willing to give a past member a shot again. We respect and enjoy all the bands and musicians in the area however at this time we are not looking for a "hired gun" situation.
Who we are...a well established, local classic to current rock/hard rock with some pop rock and metal cover band (working on some originals) That is booked almost every week unless any member has a problem with it. We work together, make decisions together, are close friends, respect each other, bicker at practice like family once in a while but it's never the way bands fight and break up, great rehearsal space, excellent relationships with the venues, and fun as heck. I will reply to all that are interested in getting more info and we'll take it from there!
